"I've returned" Veterans' Transition Program

Rehabilitation and psychological support for war veterans

"I've returned" Veterans' Transition Program

As a result of the war in Eastern Ukraine, which has erupted following the annexation of Crimea in 2014, there has been a growing number of war veterans in need of both physical and psychological assistance.

Maple Hope Foundation is working on bringing a Canadian model of psychological rehabilitation called the Veterans Transition Program, which will provide training and skill-transfer to a team of Ukrainian clinical psychologists. This training will enable local Ukrainian psychologists to conduct group workshops based on the Canadian model of the program and help Ukrainian veterans overcome trauma incurred during their military service.

The project’s purpose is to transfer skills, academic knowledge and proven counselling methods to Ukrainian psychologists and counselling professionals who work with Ukrainian veterans in overcoming post-war trauma, specifically Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
