On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, a catastrophic event unfolded as Russia destroyed a hydroelectric power plant in the Kherson region of Ukraine.
This is a devastating man-made ecological disaster. The immediate aftermath saw several villages and cities submerged in water: a tragic loss of human life; thousands of people displaced; irreversible damage to wildlife, and the contamination of the Dnipro River.
In response to this, Maple Hope Foundation initiated an urgent fundraising campaign to assist the humanitarian response in Kherson.
In partnership with the Lighthouse of Revival Charitable Foundation, we helped the local reconstruction effort by making a donation of $5,000 for building materials.
