On October 14th, our fundraising event “The Walk of Honour” brought together the communities of four British Columbia cities - Vancouver, Nanaimo, Kelowna, and Castlegar - to pay tribute to a deeply special cause. The Walk of Honor was a powerful demonstration of respect and gratitude, both in person and through generous donations on our website.
People from all walks of life, many with loved ones who sacrificed for freedom, joined hands to commemorate their heroes. Names of these courageous individuals were inscribed on a solemn red and black wreath, which we carried with the utmost respect through the city’s main routes.
What made this event even more special was the overwhelming sense of unity. Not only did we come together with our fellow community members, but we also felt a profound connection with those in Ukraine who are still fighting, volunteering, mourning, healing, and supporting the battle for freedom.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the city mayors who participated, the media for their valuable coverage, and the police for their assistance in road closures. Your support made this event possible and meaningful.
During the Walk of Honor, we conducted a fundraising campaign with a goal of $15,000 to provide life-saving medical equipment for severe injuries in Ukraine. We are thrilled to announce that the event raised a total of $4,439.61! Even though the event has passed, we are still collecting donations to reach our target.
100% of the funds raised will go towards supporting the Maple Hope Foundation’s medical team and shipping critical medical supplies to Ukraine. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a meaningful difference.
