On July 8, 2024, Russian military targeted medical facilities in Ukraine, causing devastating damage to Kyiv’s Pediatric Cardiology Centre.
During the attack, doctors were performing four surgeries on children with congenital heart disease. The bombing destroyed the operating rooms and infrastructure, causing contamination and endangering patients’ lives.

A call for help
Maple Hope Foundation has been supporting Kyiv’s Pediatric Cardiology Centre with donations of medical equipment for the past two years.
After the attack, we received a request to help rebuild and equip the Centre again.

About the Centre
Despite the war conditions, as one of the largest and busiest cardiac centres in Europe, Kyiv’s Pediatric Cardiology Centre last year delivered:
- over twelve specialized surgeries performed daily
- over 34,000 consultations
- hospitalized and treated 3,178 patients
- performed 2,301 high-tech cardiac surgeries.
- Additionally, over 500 foreign patients come to the Centre for treatment annually.
