Kyiv, Ukraine, July 15, 2023 – Maple Hope Foundation, a registered Canadian non-profit organization, today announced the delivery of a generous donation of 100 Baylis V4C-560 Ventilators, equipped with the V4C-O2E Oxygen Mixer, to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
The medical equipment was donated to Maple Hope Foundation by the Government of Canada. It follows a recent donation of 30 Thornhill Medical’s MOVES® SLC™ micro-integrated life support systems, which Maple Hope Foundation successfully delivered to Ukraine in May 2023. Since Russia’s renewed invasion in February 2022, the Maple Hope team has delivered to Ukraine $10.3M CAD (285,624,957 UAH) worth of medical aid alone.
The Baylis V4C-560 ventilator was specifically selected for its well-established reputation for reliability and familiarity within the medical community, as well as its portability. The inclusion of the Baylis-developed V4C-O2E Oxygen Mixer and additional accessories will enhance the ventilators’ clinical utility. Medical experts at Maple Hope Foundation and in Ukraine have expressed their gratitude for the delivery of innovative and proven medical technologies, emphasizing their dire need.
“Maple Hope Foundation expresses pride in its medical mission, which over the course of the last year and a half has made a significant contribution to the supply of advanced medical equipment in Ukraine. As we see it, this assistance undoubtedly has a significant impact in emergency medical situations. The Foundation remains fully committed to its mission of providing necessary medical support, as it is precisely advanced and innovative equipment that saves lives in critical medical situations.”
Dr. Irina Chorny, Chief Medical Advisor of the Maple Hope Foundation
“In the context of a full-scale war, when the number of serious injuries and traumas increase, access to timely and high-quality medical care remains a critical component. The transfer of lung ventilators will help to meet the needs of hospitals and mobile emergency medical teams providing assistance in remote locations and in the frontline areas. That is why we highly appreciate the support of our internationalpartners and their assistance on the “medical fron”. The lung ventilators have already been delivered to the regions and are being distributed to healthcare facilities.”
Deputy Minister, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin.
