A meeting with the Ukrainian author Valery Ananiev during his presentation tour of the book "Footprints on the Road".

The Vancouver community gathered to meet with author Valery Ananiev during his tour of “Footprints on the Road”.

Valery Ananiev is a Ukrainian paratrooper, veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, military field chronicler, blogger and traveler. He was a participant in the fighting for Slavyansk and Debaltseve and had blogged extensively about the events of the war in Donbas.

For five years he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of which two years was at the epicenter of military events in the East of Ukraine. He received the rank of senior soldier in the 25th Airborne Brigade. Ananiev was awarded the commemorative badge “For Military Valor”, an award from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

«Footprints on the road » is a unique live book about the war in Ukraine. It includes 100 QR codes arranged throughout the text, which allows the reader to immerse themselves in the events of the front. These are original videos and photos of real events shot by the author.
